Typologically speaking, songs of this sort are ‘numeric’ in the sense that the lyrics follow a numerical scale which repetition helps pupils internalize. Of course, by linking each of the numbers to a useful piece of practical information, the songs are triply educational, teaching them both an array of facts and an effective method for memorizing them.

The presence of something as modern as ‘eleven footballer stars’ in a song whose context refers, otherwise, to a - probably distant - agrarian past is both interesting and indicative of how dynamic these songs are and how readily they assimilate elements of new realities and adapt them to their own ‘traditional’ form, which is both enriched and renewed in the process.
