The melody is free and improvized. The flute (flogera) is above all the shepherds' typical in strument. They make it themselves out of a reed, a bird's bone or even a piece of iron piping. Of recent years flutes have also been made of plastic piping. There are several kinds of flute in different sizes. The tune here comes from Central Greece (Roúmeli ) and is played on a reed.
