A carnival dance from the Siatista region of Macedonia. It is danced by pairs facing each other, is in 9/8 time and can be called a humorous love dance.
As in the "hassapikos (fast)" dance also known as "hassaposervikos", there is a variant of kompania, i.e. clarinet, violin, lute and goblet drum (a small clay or metal drum), which replaces the santur. As the dance comes from the mainland the clarinet is more prominent.
The song was recorded in a studio, in 1979.
